Venus Williams has finally comeback in the WTA circuit after facing a lengthy injury layoff. Showing her skills on the court, Venus defeated Anabel Medina Garrigues in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 to reach the semifinals of the Family Circle Cup. Not only she dominated the Spaniard but her game which once saw her reaching the top rank in WTA was at full show, winning rallies after rallies with utmost ease.

This victory means that unseeded Venus Williams will now face a stern test facing second seed Jelena Jankovic who defeated Katarina Srebotnik in straight sets 6-2,6-0. Match between Venus and Jankovic is going to be a real battle because both play power tennis and their serves are pretty quick too.

According to Venus Williams,

We have both played well to get to the semis so I’m looking forward to playing the same kind of tennis, aggressive but with patience.

If Venus Williams manages to win this tournament not only will she improve on her ranking but will gain a lot of confidence too.
